Timothy Driscoll and his wife, Margaret, emigrated from Ireland to Quebec, Canada in 1836. In 1837, they moved on to New York State, where Timothy worked on the Erie Canal and railroad. In 1856-7, after a short stint of railroad work in Indiana, Timothy and Margaret moved on to McGregor, Iowa, where they farmed, then in 1873 to Wisconsin, and finally in 1876 to La Crescent, Houston Co, MN.
