Minnie Evelyn Dobbins, 85, died Jan. 8, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Services were Saturday at 2 p.m. at Chandler Funeral Home of Vernon, Ala. with Mr. Max Bobbitt officiating. Burial followed at Friendship South Cemetery in Vernon. Mrs. Dobbins was born in Lamar County, Ala. on June 5, 1918, to the late Jacob and Bula Trull. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dobbins was preceded in death by her husband, Winford Dobbins, and sons, Don Dobbins and Mack Dobbins.
Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Johnson of Columbus, Miss.; sister, Zada Andrews of Athens, Ala.; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
