Walter and his brothers were well known throughout the community as "The Baker Boys". Walter was born with a hunchback deformity, and his brothers affectionately referred to him as "Humpy".

Walter Baker Rites Held Sunday
Walter Baker, 75, died Thursday in Okeene nursing home. Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, in the Pentecostal Holiness Church. Rev. L___ Daniels officiated. Burial was in the Hope Cemetery, northwest of Longdale, under the direction of Haigler Funeral Home of Canton.
He was born in Pottawatomie County, March 10, 1896. He lived in the Chester community for several years, moving to Canton in 1950.
Survivors are one sister, Mrs. Etta Hayes, Rocky Ford, Colo., one brother-in-law, W. C. Coffey of Canton, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
