Mr. Patrick H. Orrell (1838-1914) died at his home at West Pascagoula, Jackson County, Mississippi on Saturday, October 3, 1914, after a lingering illness. Mr. Orrell was born in North Carolina in 1838, and when a young man came with his two brothers, John C. Orrell (1830-1917) and Christopher Columbus Orrell (d. 1906), to Fort Bayou, where they engaged in the turpentine business. Later Mr. Orell removed to Americus, where he pursued the same calling. He is survived by his wife, who before her marriage was Miss Jennie Lewis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Lewis of West Pascagoula, one son, Edwin Orrell, and a brother J.C. Orrell of St. Elmo, Alabama.
In the later years of his life, he retired from active business and with his family removed to West Pascagoula, where he has since resided.
Mr. Orrell was buried in the Lewis private cemetery at West Pascagoula on Saturday afternoon.
