Mr. Raymond Lee Brown, 88, of Providence, KY died at 6:00 P.M. Monday, December 12, 2005 at his home.
Born November 28, 1917 in Hopkins County, KY he was the son of the late Enos Pearl Brown and Mary Lee Howton Brown. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Mable Harris in 1983.
He worked for the Illinois Central Railroad; Zeigler Coal Mines and was a self-employed farmer. He was as 50 year member of the Beulah Masonic Lodge # 609 F&AM.
He is survived by his wife, Willie Mae Mathews Brown of Providence; three daughters, Jerald "Jeri" Cotton of Dawson Springs, Anna Cain of Nebo, KY and Virginia Bolen of Louisville, KY; one stepson, Jimmy Mathews of Dawson Springs; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one niece.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 15, 2005 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Lamb officiating. Burial will follow in the Lafayette Cemetery in Dawson Springs.
Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday and on Thursday from 9:00 A.M. until the service at the funeral home. Masonic services will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may take the form of donations to the Lafayette Cemetery Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
