BARBARA "Barb" A. NASON, age 67, of Ball Club, MN died Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, Minnesota. Barb was born in 1942 in Cass Lake, Minnesota to Ralph and Bernice (Command) Robinson of Inger, Minnesota. Following her marriage to Franklin Nason, they moved to Ball Club. They lived in Texas for a short time before returning to Ball Club. Barb worked as a certified nursing assistant for the Leech Lake CHR Program. While attending Leech Lake Tribal College, she worked as a Headstart teacher in Ball Club and as a daycare provider at the Bug-O-Nay-Ge-Shig School After she graduated from college, she became a receptionist at the Bug-O-Nay-Ge-Shig Clinic and, most recently, was serving as a receptionist at the Ball Club Clinic. She loved reading, embroidery, science fiction, and going to Pow Wows to watch her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Barb is predeceased by her parents, her husband Franklin, infant daughter and son, four-year old son, oldest son Franklin Nason, Jr., grandson Jamie Nason, and four sisters.
She is survived by four daughters: Corinne Nason (Sherwin Obey), Deer River, MN: Frances Nason, Deer River, MN; Linda Nason (Kevin Beaulieu), Ball Club, MN; Lisa Nason (Mike Bruers), Ball Club, MN; two sons: Fred Nason, Ball Club, MN; Alvin (Julie) Nason, Deer River, MN; two "adopted" sons: Craig (Sherrie) Nason, Walker, MN; Jordan Robinson, Cass Lake, MN; three sisters: Betty Motter, Sandra Charwood and Pat Garbow-Long; two brothers: Harold "Duane" Robinson and Simon Garbor; 16 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and special nephew, Ralph.
The Wake Service will be after 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at the Ball Club Community Center where the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 23, 2010. The Rev. Fr. Paul Larson will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Ball Club, Minnesota.
