Bessie Emily Johnson Olson Affolter, 87, formerly of 3027 Latham Street, Rockford, Winnebago County, Illinois, died Monday evening, December 23, 1991 at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home, South Beloit, Winnebago County, Illinois, after a long illness.
She was born in Jesup, Buchanan County, Iowa, May 28, 1904. She was married to Charles Samuel Affolter, Sr. in Milwaukee, Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1943. He died on September 18, 1990. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her children, Charles Samuel Affolter, Jr. (Teresa) (Lois) of South Beloit, Winnebago County, Illinois and Kathryn M. Affolter Grun of Sarasota, Sarasota County, Florida; three grandchildren, Sandy (Daniel) Callahan of Aurora, Dupage County, Illinois, John A. Affolter of Durand, Winnebago County, Illinois and Thomas W. Rose of Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin; one sister, Margaret Johnson Potter Landau Plucar of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa; two great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents.
Complete services will be Saturday, December 28, 1991 at 2 p. m. at the Rosman, Uehling, Kinzer Blackhawk Chapel, with Dr. James Westpfahl, pastor of the Old Stone Church, Rockton, Winnebago County, Illinois officiating.
Private burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Rockford, Winnebago County, Illinois.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 28, 1991 at 1:30 p. m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Wedded to Harold F. Olson in Rockford, Winnebago County, Illnois.
Miss Bessie Johnson and Harold F. Olson were united in marriage Saturday, June 26, at high noon by Rev. H. N. Bannau at Rockford, Winneabo County, Illinois. They were attended by Miss Laura Martsolf, Raymond Conray and the bridegrooms brother, Oscar Olson. The double ring ceremony was used. Miss Johnson was attired in a light blue georgette dress with hat to match, and blond slippers and hose, cock blue satin dress, with corresponding hat. The bride carried red roses and lily of the valley, and the maid inattendance carried pink roses with lily of the valley. A supper was given for them in the home of the bridegroom's brother, Oscar Olson, which was well attended. The evening was spent in music and cards.
Miss Johnson is the daughter of Peter Johnson, of Independence. She is an estimable young lady and has a host of friends.
The past two years she has been employed in Janesville, at the Parker Pen company.
Mr. Olson is the son of Mrs. Olle Olson, of Janesville, Wisconsin. Their friends wish them happiness through their married life.
They will be at home at 215 Oakland Avenue, Janesville, Wisconsin."
