Pearl Beachy was born August 25, 1917 in Seward, Nebraska the daughter of John and Mary Ann (Birky) Stutzman. Pearl died on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City at the age of 94 years.
Pearl moved to Iowa in 1938. On April 3, 1941 she was united in marriage to Joseph E. Beachy at her parents home in Milford, Nebraska. They made there home in the Wayland community for 52 years and have lived in Kalona since 2002. Pearl was a homemaker and she enjoyed quilting and sewing. She was a member of the Bethel Mennonite Church where she was active in WMSC and taught Sunday School. She has attended the Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church since moving to Kalona.
Pearl is survived by: husband Joseph Beachy of Kalona; children - Karen Kropf (Richard) of Woodburn, Oregon; Ken Beachy (Nancy) of Woodburn, Oregon; Roger Beachy (Joanna) of Nordland, Washington; Linda Marner (Dale) of Kalona; daughter-in-law Vera Beachy Sears (Steve) of Yoder, Kansas; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and sister - Wilma Roth of Goshen, Indiana.
Pearl was preceded in death by: parents, son, Wayne Beachy; brother Earl Stutzman; and sisters, Elsie Earnest, Millie Miller, Lillie Lehman, Florence Stauffer and Doris Saltzman.
Burial was in the Bethel Cemetery, Wayland, IA.
