MRS. ELIZABETH P. DAVIS:
A wire from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Wednesday, October 23, announced the sad news of the death of Mrs. Elizabeth P. Davis (Nee Redden), only sister of the late James Walker Redden of Mokane.
She was 88 years of age April 6th, and the last surviving member of the old Redden family. Four brothers, all younger, preceded her to the grave-John Toliver Redden, Wiley Sevier Redden, father of George, Sam and Charlie Redden, William Christopher Redden, who with his family moved to Oklahoma in 1900 and James Walker Redden, father of J.M. and W.A. Redden of Mokane, Mrs. A.D. Ferguson of Fulton and Mrs. C.A. Lowe of Oklahoma, who passed away October October 28, 1926, lacking only five days of three years before his sister's death. She was but six years older than her brother, J.W., but the only mother he had known after the death of his own mother when he was but a small lad.
Mrs. Davis leaves six children, Dr. J.C.B. Davis of Willow Springs, Missouri, Ransom Davis, Mrs. Tennie Hargrove, Mrs. Sara Butler, Mrs. Frona Hass, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and other relatives who will miss her sadly.
She was a noble Christian woman, a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church.
Her funeral took place at 2:30 Thursday afternoon, October 24, at her home at Willow Springs, the body being laid to rest by the side of her husband, James E. Davis, who died in 1912.
