Federico Martínez, age 77, a resident of Las Vegas, New Mexico, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2012 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Federico was born in Ledoux, New Mexico on December 31, 1934 to the late Carlos Martínez and Delicia Tafoya-Martínez.
Federico served in the United States Army in Korea. Fedrico enjoyed fishing and loved being around his grandchildren. Fedrico was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Delicia Martínez, sons, Lawrence Martínez and Tony Martínez, brothers, Cristobal Martíntez and Jessie Martínez and sister, Della Córdova.
Federico is survived by his daughters, Lorraine Gurulé and her husband, Larry and Dolores Jeanette Martínez all of Albuquerque, NM, step-son, Ernest Vigil and his wife, Dolores of Albuquerque, NM, sister, Mena, brother, John J. Martinez, both of Colorado Springs, CO, grandchildren, Desi, Racquel and Falysha Gurulé, Ernie Vigil, Jeremy Vigil and Joshua Martínez all of Albuquerque, NM, great-grandchildren, Mya and Aurora Green, Alexandria and Antonio Martínez all of Albuquerque, NM, Jazmin and Isaiah Vigil of Edgewood, NM and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Rosary services will be held on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Gertrudes Catholic Church in Mora, New Mexico. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gertrudes Catholic Church with Father James Sánchez as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Ledoux Cemetery in Ledoux, New Mexico with the following serving as casketbearers, Desi Gurulé, Jeremy Vigil, Joshua Martínez, Robert Martínez, Raymond Martínez, Ralph Martínez and Tito Martínez. Serving as honorary bearers will be Ernest Córdova, Warren Córdova, Dwayne Calidillo, Ernest Vigil Jr., Eric Lucero and all his remaining nieces, nephews and cousins.
