Orus O. Adams Passed Away Here March 31st
Orus O. Adams was born June 12, 1887, at Bethany, Mo., and passed from this life in the Onawa Hospital after an illness of about one month. Death came on March 31, 1961. He had reached the age of 73 years, 9 months and 19 days.

He was united in marriage with Estell Wyland on November 9, 1915, at Onawa, Iowa.

Survivors are his wife Estella; six daughters, Mrs. Clude Taylor of Turin, Ia., Mrs. Robert Nelson of Anaheim, Calf., Mrs. Joseph Smith of Clear Lake, Ia., Mrs. Mervin Tyrell of Titusville, Fla., Mrs. Albert Conyers of Omaha, Nebr., and Mrs. Albert Wright of Westminister, Calif.; six sons, Orus Jr. and William both of Midway City, Calif., LeRoy and Jack D. of Millard, Nebr., Jimmie Dale of Omaha, Nebr., and Earl Richard of Onawa; 31 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Jinks of Collins, Mo., and Mrs. Maude Terry of Edgemont, S. Dak.; along with a number of other relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Rev. Everett Epperson conducted the service at the Pearson Funeral Chapel on Monday, April 3rd, at 2 p.m. Mrs. Orland Ferris sang ‘In the Garden’ and ‘The Old Rugged Cross’, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Oliver Kelley. The casket bearers were Robert and John Perry, Virgil and Melvin Myrland, William Harris and Adair Kaehlar.

Interment was in the Onawa cemetery.
