THORE I. BAKKE
Thore. I. Bakke, an old and respected settler of Severance passed quietly away at his home last Tuesday afternoon shortly after seven o'clock, death resulting from old age. He had always been in good health until last winter, when he became very weak, and when he was taken sick a second time he was too feeble to withstand the attack.
The deceased was born in Tryggstad, Norway, October 1, 1831. When he was 27 years old he was united in marriage to Olive Peterson. In 1870 they came to America with their family of four children and settled at Norseland where they resided for four years, when they came to Severance, where they have since lived. Nine children were born to them, all of which, together with their mother are to morn the departure of a kind and loving father and husband. They are as follows: Iver, Ole, Peter, Jens, Oscar, and Mrs. O. G. Loftness, of Severance; Thos. of Fairfax; Mrs. Andrew Sletto, of Gibbon.
The funeral will be held this afternoon and the remains will be interred Clear Lake Norwegian Lutheran cemetery.
We extend sympathies to the bereaved relatives.
