ALBION - Carmen Aldus, 60, died unexpectedly Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, at her home. She was born July 12, 1947, in Bangor, the daughter of Ivan and Lalia (Bowker) Micue. Carmen graduated from Corinna Union Academy, June 10, 1965. She also graduated from Beal College twice, with degrees in travel and tourism, and medical assistant and medical billing and coding. She worked for many years in the health care field as a certified nurse's assistant and certified medical technician. She also spent many years as a volunteer emergency medical technician for Unity Ambulance, as well as teaching CPR and first aid classes. Carmen spent many summers with her husband, Raymond, camping at Aldus Shores, where they enjoyed regular potluck suppers and practical jokes with their friends around the campfire and bingo every Saturday evening. She loved to spend the days at camp fishing and was very proud of the 7-pound bass she caught one year. During the off season she loved to spend her spare time with her grandchildren and sewing.
She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Aldus; and her parents, Ivan and Lalia Micue.
Carmen is survived by her three children, Angela Miville and her husband, Randy, of Clinton, Sandra Hayes and her husband, Ron, of Lincolnville and Michael Stewart and his wife, Heidi, of Winslow; her three stepsons, Raymond Aldus Jr. and his wife, Kristen, of Belfast, Greg Aldus of Luttrell, Tenn., and Joseph Aldus of Brooks; her three brothers, Paul Micue of Warwick, R.I., Dwaine Micue and his wife, Peggy, of Oakland and Barry Micue of Holden; her pet dog, Abby; and a very special friend, who was very dear to her, Mary Benjamin of Belfast. Her 13 grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, Shawn and Megan Miville of Clinton, Jensen Pizana of Santa Rosa, Calif., Tari and Keira Hayes of Lincolnville, Andrew Lovley of Winslow, Benjamin Stewart of Winslow, Carli Briggs of Belfast, Kallie and Kote Aldus of Belfast, Abraham and Matthew Aldus of Luttrell, Tenn., and Jacob Aldus of Albion.
A memorial service will be held 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, Main Street, Fairfield. A private burial will take place Friday.
