Thomas was the oldest of eleven children {six sons & five daughters} born to Thomas F. & Catherine (Muntifering) Blissenbach, Sr.

On 23 May 1940, Thomas married Anna Barbara Schroden at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Saint Cloud, MN; he was age 24, she was 22. Anna was the oldest of ten children (seven daughters & three sons) born to John J. & Amelia M. (Braun) Schroden.

A successful family farmer in the Mayhew Lake (Township) area from 1940-1978, Thomas & Anna eventually sold their farm & retired.

After retiring, they grew flowers & provided them for arrangements for Annunciation Church. They lived in Mayhew Lake (Township) for over 60 years until finally moving to Sartell in 2001. Thomas died at age 88.
