He was born at McAlester General Hospital to Carl and Barbara Pauline Scott Goddard. He was raised in the Arch Community where he began raising cattle and working on the family farm with his father, as a child. He graduated from Haileyville High School in the Class of 1983, where he was active in FFA and was named FFA president, earned his State Farmer's Degree and attended both State and National FFA Conventions. He also enjoyed showing cattle and pigs at a number of livestock shows and fairs. After high school he began working as a carpenter for Ron Holloway before working at Dolese Brothers in Hartshorne. He later accepted a job with Boeing working for more than 13 years, as a sheet metal fabricator. He continued working at Spirit Aeronautics and was a member of the UAW until his death. He married Margaret Lois Conkling on Nov. 23, 1990, in Haileyville. He was member of the Haileyville Church of Christ where he taught classes, brought sermons and was the song leader for numerous years. He enjoyed being the handy man for all of the church family, mowing the church yard and doing routine maintenance. He was also a member of the Pittsburg County Cattleman's Association and the FFA Alumni. He enjoyed working on numerous building projects, playing pranks and was always thinking of others before himself. His greatest joy was spending time with his family at family gatherings and being a great support to his daughters at many contests, livestock shows and athletic events. Dee passed away at the age of 43 at the Cancer Treatment Center of America. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Goddard, of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Amber Goddard, of the home, and Ashley and Josiah Belt, of Hartshorne; his parents, Carl and Polly Scott Goddard, of the Arch Community.
