She was born on September 11, 1911 in Augusta County, a daughter of John Elmer and Gracie Wiseman Lotts.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-seven years, Harry H. Chandler; a son, Delmar Randolph and two sisters, Isabel White and Bessie Glendye, and two brothers, Maryland "Monk" Lotts and Wallace "Jake" Lotts.
In addition to her daughter, survivors include three sons, Carl Chandler and his wife, Naomi of Tampa, FL, Bob Chandler and his wife, Margaret of Staunton, and Howard E. "Bo" Chandler of Staunton. She is also survived by two brothers and two sisters, Robert Lotts of Staunton, Jess Lotts of Stuarts Draft, Eva Sensabaugh of Fishersville, and Shirlyn Henderson of Arcadia, FL. She was dearly loved by her thirteen grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was a lifelong and faithful member of Arbor Hill Church of the Brethren. She was active in the Ladies Circle, and in 1984 was recognized as the Christian Mother of the year. She will long be remembered for being an exceptional cook and always willing to lend a helping hand.
A funeral service will be held at Arbor Hill Church of the Brethren at 11 a.m. Monday (March 4, 2002) by the Rev. Grant Simmons with interment in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Michael, Philip and Keith Maddox, Howard "Bubby" Scott, Jason, and Clay Chandler.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren and great grandchildren, Mike, Brandon, Jeremy, and Nathan Maddox, Seth, Frankie, Amanda, and Terry Chandler, Jessica and Dale Reynolds, Robin McClister, and a nephew, Brent Fielding, and other friends attending the service.
