Marcia Jean Taylor, WAH-BISH-KI-GWA-NABE, 55, McGregor, died Sept. 3, 2008, at the Riverwood Healthcare Center in Aitkin.
She was born April 24, 1953, in Cloquet to Lawrence Taylor and Eloise Mae (Durant) Carpenter. She was very loving and always helped other people. She was a member of the White Earth Band of Ojibwe.
Funeral services were held Sept. 8 at the East Lake Community Center in McGregor. Tribal rites were by Melvin Eagle. Burial was in Big Sandy Lake Burial Grounds.
She is survived by her partner, Paris Stone, Fargo, N.D.; children, Teresa Taylor and Rita Taylor, Fargo, N.D.; and Rose Taylor, Minneapolis; many grandchildren; sister, Lisa Carpenter, McGregor; brother, Kenneth Taylor Sr., McGregor; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Katie Jo Taylor; sisters, Kay Beaupre and JoAnn Sargent; and her parents.
Arrangements were with the McGregor Funeral Home in McGregor.
