"Per the Santa Barbara Mission Archive-Library [BK 2, Pg. 96, #B-829] regarding the Cieneguitas Cemetery of identities and burials of known veterans of the Mexican and Civil War who lived or died in Santa Barbara: [Jose] Francisco Cordero was buried 06 January 1889, age 78 yrs. There is a military marker [memory stone] at Cieneguitas Cemetery."
