Layton Claire "Jack" Adams, 83, of Chapa Drive died at 5:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2002, at Silver Oaks Health Campus.

Mr. Adams was a retired farmer and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Logansport, the Odd Fellows Lodge in Rockville, the Masonic Lodge in Camden and the Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Cree Funeral Home in Camden. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from noon until service time Thursday. Burial will be at Camden Cemetery.

Local arrangements were made by Barkes, Inlow & Weaver Funeral Home.

Born Nov. 25, 1918, in Rockfield, Mr. Adams was the son of Dean and Zeulah Miller Adams. He married Lola P. Hendrickson. She survives.

Also surviving are daughters, Barbara Betz of Columbus, Donna Adams of Seymour and Sue Ellen Burton of Bryan, Ohio; sisters, Norma Beckwith of Michigan and Leota Waller of Florida; grandchildren, Michael, James and Amy Burton, all of Bryan, Angela Betz of Florida, Anastasia Nystedt of Connecticut and Adam Betz of Columbus; and two great-grandchildren.
