Around 1618, Sarah married a man named Francis Eaton. The marriage record has never been found and so her maiden name is unknown. Together they had a son named Samuel in 1620 and shortly after this they all boarded the Mayflower. Perhaps the stress of a two month journey on a crowded cargo ship was too much for a nursing mother, as she died that first winter in Plymouth colony. Although she died young, through her son Samuel she now has a proud and accomplished line of descendants.
