•Stone-Died, at his home, on the 22nd ult., Mr. John W. East, of consumption and injuries received from a fall, when a runaway with him. He had been a patient sufferer for several weeks, but all that friends and relatives did, could not keep him here any longer. His remains were interred in Scott's Fork burrying [sic burying] grounds, Sunday the 23rd. He leaves an aged mother, four sisters and a brother, to mourn his loss. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the community.
