Wife of Colonel James Stevinson (1828-1907). Mother of Samuel Stevinson (1856-1913), and Mary Stevinson Harris (1858-1931). Outlived all her children and most of her grandchildren. She was a pioneer that came of the Don Pedro Resivour in a covered wagon. A picture of her hangs in the Stevinson Ranch Golf Course.
father was a miner and operated Cox Ferry, while Louisa was educated in
Quartzburg, Mariposa County.
Louisa married James J Stevinson on Dec 27, 1855. They had three children:
* Samuel Stevinson
* Mary E Stevinson, Mrs Charles P Harris
* Fannie B Stevinson, Mrs Howard H Hogan
Together Louisa and James worked 25,000 acres of land, and built their home,
completed in 1891.
