Myrtle Eva Phelps, youngest daughter of John and Ella Sawyer Phelps, was born February 9, 1885, at Arbela, Missouri and died April 4, 1964 at Los Angeles, California, where she had spent the last 25 years of her life. She was 79 years, one month, and 25 days of age.
She was united in marriage to Byrd E. Cline, May 10, 1903. To this union was born one daughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, August 8, 1924, her mother and father, and five brothers and one sister.
As a young girl, she accepted Christ as her Savior, and remained strong in her faith all through her life. She leaves to mourn her passing, a daughter, Mrs. Harvey Veach of Baring, three granddaughters, Peggy Blaine, Baring, Missouri; Maureen Winn, Baring, Missouri; and Rosemary Cramer, Los Angeles, California; five great grandchildren, Michael Blaine, Baring, Missouri; Steven and Kevin Winn, Baring, Missouri; Sondra and Sheryl Cramer of Los Angeles, California; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Fannie Phelps, Memphis, Missouri and Mrs. Grace Garrett, Downing, Missouri, and other relatives and close friends.
She was a kind and loving mother, and thoughtful friend to all she came in contact with.
Funeral services were held from the Gerth & Baskett Chapel Friday, April 10th at 3:00 p.m., conducted by Rev. Kenneth Campbell.
Burial was in the Granger Cemetery.
Body bearers were Herbert Garrett, Dillard Cline, Hershel Brewer, Vilas Garrett, Harold Dunn, and Usa Bissell.
