Henry Albert Meng, Jr. age 57 of Sioux Falls, SD passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at his residence in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 16, 2010, at Our Most Merciful Savior Episcopal Church in Santee, NE. Burial will be in the Episcopal Cemetery, Santee, NE. A Prayer service will be held at 7 PM, Saturday, August 14, 2010 at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory, Yankton. Visitations and a prayer service will be held at 7:30 PM, Sunday, August 15, 2010 at the Oyate Oyanke Community Center, Santee. Pallbearers will be LeRoy Vassar, Darrel Vassar, Christopher Vassar, Michael Herman III, Cory Meng, and Edward Meng, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be all of his grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Henry Albert Meng, Jr. was born on March 12, 1953 to Henry Albert Meng, Sr. and Matilda P. Moose in Yankton, SD. He went to school in Yankton and Saint Elizabeth. He was a house painter until health problems occurred in his battle with cancer.
He is survived by sons: Henry Meng III, of Arizona and Eric Meng, of Sioux Falls, SD; daughters: Shannon Meng, Alicia Meng, Jesse Meng, Jamie Meng, all of Sioux Falls, SD and Jerri Ann Meng of Arizona; sisters: Norma Meng Pittler of Dallas, OR, Sharon Meng Montoya of Las Vegas, NV, Sheryl Meng Segura of Albuquerque, NM, and Janice Meng Rivers of Sioux Falls, SD; brother, Edward G. Meng, Sr. of Mission Hill, SD and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, two sons, one granddaughter, two brothers, and both parents.
