MRS. SUSAN HOOVER
Mrs. susan Hoover, of Trough Creek Valley, passed away at 3 a.m. on Monday, May 13, 1940. after and illness of twelve days.
She was born in Union township, Huntingdon county on July 29, 1864, the eldest daughter of Peter and Rachel (Saylor) Rickabaugh, deceased. She was aged 75 years, nine months and fiften days at the time of death. Her entire life was spent in Trough Creek Valley.
On September 29, 1885 she was married to Harry Hoover. Their married life was passed in the vicinity of the present Hoovr homestead until Mr.Hoover died on March 3, 1934.
Mrs. Hoover has been a member of the Beavertown Church of God since childhood, and her kindly deeds and ministries to others in need will long be remembered by her friends and neighbors.
She leaves the following children: Mrs. Annie Trout, of Huntingdon; Mearl Hoover, of Joller, David, Daniel and Verna (Mrs. Elba Stapleton), of Todd, R.D.,and Odus at home. Twenty-three grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren
Also serviving are these brothers and sisters: John rickabaugh, of Johnstown, David rickabaugh, of cassville; Samuel Rickabaugh, of Saltillo; Mrs. Mary Hoover, of Allenport; Mrs. Cora Kidd, of Mount Union,, and Mrs. Maggie Scott, of Huntingdon Star Route.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 16, with a prayer at the home at 10:15 a.m., followed by further service at the Beavertown Church of God at 11 a.m. Interment will be made in the nearby cemetery, directed by Green's furneral service.
