Melvin W. Bricker, of Glenville, departed this life on the morning of January 16, 2011 in Hanover, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Mildred A. (Sterner) Bricker, together they shared over 53 years of marriage.
Melvin was born in Glenville on March 27, 1931, and was the son of the late Maggie (Leinart) and Jacob R. Bricker.
He was a longtime member of Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene in York.
Mr. Bricker was a farmer all of his life and worked for AMP in Brodbecks for over 35 years as a set-up technician. After retiring he enjoyed mowing grass, especially tees and greens for over 18 years at Oakmont Green Golf Course in Hampstead Md. He also enjoyed restoring antique Farmall tractors but cherished the time he spent with his family.
In addition to his wife, Melvin is survived by his son, Michael W. Bricker and wife, Lois of Oak Ridge NC; his daughters, Karen Sullivan and husband, Douglas, Brenda Myers and husband, Ned, Pamela Henry and husband, Ronald and Debra Poff and husband, Mark, all of Glenville; his grandchildren, Eric, Jesse, Trudy, Ashley, Amy, Wesley, Tara, Ryan and Katelyn; three great-grandchildren; his brother, Jacob Bricker and wife, Mabel of Larue; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his grandson, Jason and his sisters, Mary Bylon and Ruth Bortner.
Interment: Greenmount Methodist Church Cemetery, Glenville.
