Son of Joseph Russell Kneebone and Rose Alice Green. Grandson of Andrew Reed Kneebone of Cornwall and Victoria Marie Amelia Cole of Bridgeport, William J Green of California and Sarah A Walker.

Husband of Mary Elizabeth Washburn, daughter of Charles Francis Washburn and Eva Maud Orr. They married 08 Feb 1936 in Gardnerville, Douglas, Nevada, and had two children including Kathryn Mary, Mrs Raymond Pearson.

Eugene was the brother of Milton Kneebone, Eugene was born in San Francisco, lived in Spenceville, and became a mining engineer. He and his wife Mary were interned in a Japanese prison camp in the Philippines during WWII. After the war they returned to Grass Valley. Eugene worked as a mining engineer at the Idaho-Maryland mine in Grass Valley for one year before returning to the Philippines where he worked in the mining business until he retired in 1982 and returned to Grass Valley where he died 27 January 1984. His wife Mary followed in death six months later.
