Shirley Frances James Cody, 77, of Marion passed away at 3:20 PM on Friday, January 14, 2011 at Marion Nursing and Rehab Center in Marion.
According to her wishes she will be cremated and there will be no services. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.
She was born August 15, 1933 in McLeansboro, IL to Leslie James & Nola (Pierce) James.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Cletus Hicks; and sisters, Shelby Hocking & Betty Campbell.
Shirley spent much of her youth in church and professed faith in Jesus Christ at an early age at Brush Harbor Church east of McLeansboro.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Heartland Regional Medical Center and Hospice for the care she received prior to her death.
