Ronald C. Grafton, 58, of Burrell Township died Tuesday (March 11, 2003) in a fire and explosion at his home. He was born Aug. 31, 1944, in Kittanning. A 1962 graduate of Ford City High School, he earned an associates degree in business from Penn State University. He retired in 1999 as superintendent/plant manager of Eljer Plumbingware, Ford City, where he worked 36 1/2 years. Mr. Grafton was a member of Cochran's Mills United Methodist Church, Cherry Run Sportsman's Club, fire chaplin and fireman at Burrell Township Fire Department, and member of National Rifle Association and National Wild Turkey Federation. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Doris Schaeffer Grafton; a son, Deron C. Grafton of North Buffalo Township; a daughter, Kelly Grafton of Woodbridge, Va.; his parents, Harlen Clair and Alice Ritzert Grafton of Manor; and two sisters, Mrs. Jeanne (Joe) Birdwell of Parks and Mrs. Loretta (Fred) Booher of Cowansville. Also surviving are a grandson, Derek Grafton; and two granddaughters, Jaysa Grafton and Kylie Grafton. Friends will be welcomed from 9 a.m. Saturday until time of services at noon at Cochran's Mills United Methodist Church, Burrell Township. The Rev. Kevin Rea will officiate and the Rev. James Myers will co-officiate. Burial will be in Cochran's Mills United Methodist Cemetery, Burrell Township.
