Terrill, died, age 70, on Monday December 2, 2013. Born in Denver, Colorado on June 8, 1943 to H Darrell Smith and Ida Bobbie Hershkowitz Smith, he moved to Oakland California, in 1985 after receiving his BS, in biology/chemistry and Doctorate, in Microbiology, from the University of Colorado, Boulder and working there for the Dept of Public Health.
Later, he earned a Masters in Public Health from UC Berkeley. In addition to his long teaching career, notably at Notre Dame, Belmont; Chabot College, Hayward; Merritt College, Oakland and City College, San Francisco, he was a noted antiques restorer and jewelry maker. In the late 90's the Wiegand Museum of Art in Belmont featured his extensive assemblage of toys and he participated in many local antique fairs and was represented by Collector's Choice of Lafayette California.
He is survived by his partner of 15 years, John Rother; his sister, Elaine Smith Dunlap (Gregory ); nephew, Oliver Dunlap (Ulash); niece, Chandler Dunlap Day (Simon) and grandson, Ezra Dunlap.
Services will be held at 10am on Sunday December 8 at Gan Shalom Cemetery in Lafayette
