Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 11, at Monticello United Church of Christ, with the Reverend Gary Owens officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Faucette was born April 26, 1920, in Raleigh, N.C., to Marion Cleo and Sidney Dowty Faucette. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a Mason for over 53 years. He worked for the City of Greensboro for 35 years and retired in 1982 as Superintendent of Streets. After retirement he enjoyed woodworking, golf, fishing, and gardening. He was a devoted member of Monticello United Church of Christ, where he served on many committees and was a deacon and trustee for over 50 years. He designed the current church building and was very involved in the planning of the new fellowship hall.
Mr. Faucette is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Aller Comer Faucette; a daughter, Carolyn Martin and husband Carl, of Bolivia, N.C.; a son, Dick Faucette and wife, Gayle, of Browns Summit; a brother, Gene D. Faucette and wife, Evelyn, of Browns Summit; ten grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
