Alexander Clark was born somewhere in North Carolina in 1812. He left home at the age of twelve and lived for a while with brothers in north Georgia. Later he settled at Dudleyville in Tallapoosa County, Alabama. He built buggies and wagons there, married Orrie Vickers and raised a family.
One son, John Clark was sheriff of Tallapoosa County. He settled in Dadeville and raised a family. A daughter, Cissie married a Mr. Foamby/Fomby, and raised a family in Goodwater, Coosa County, Alabama. Charles C. "Buddy" Clark bought land in the Ridge Grove area of Chambers County and raised a family there.
The other son, Franklin A. Clark married Mary Spear. They also settled on land in the Ridge Grove area. They were blessed with two daughters and three sons. Nettie married James Hoyle and moved to Oklahoma when it was still Indian territory; they had no children. Lessie married Bob Scott; they had two daughters - Orrie and Kate. Fred Clark never married. Frank G. (Dick) Clark married Emily Eason and settled in Opelika and had no children. Dick was a Purple heart Veteran of World War I. George A. "Gus" Clark married Helen Johnson and they had four sons.
After their mother Mary died, Frank married Oda Hoyle. They had one son Wilson, who married Lillie Belle Sanders and settled in Lanett. They had two children, Robert and Helen.
Gus and Helen's oldest son Jim Frank Clark, married Inez Foster and lives in Valley. Their son Michael lives in Dalton, GA. Hugh Dorsey Clark died as a pre-schooler. Max Henry Clark met and married an English girl during WWII. They live in Huntsville, Alabama and have three children. Dan married Joyce Schuessler and settled in Lanett. Dan was a Purple Heart Veteran of WWII and is deceased. They had five sons - Dan Jr., Richard "Dick", Rea, William "Billy" and Phillip. Rea is District Attorney of the 5th Judicial Circuit of Alabama.
