Jack Begley was the youngest son of Amanda Couch Olinger and her second husband, Joe Begley. After his mother died young of complications of TB, Jack was raised by his father's pearents, B.B. and Melda Napier Begley. He served 5 years in the US Army during World War II. He married Martha Marie Combs, daughter of Roosevelt Combs and Myrtle Combs of Accup. They had one daughter. He was murdered by a Perry Co. deputy sheriff on the Perry-Leslie Co. line in 1950. The deputy was sent to prison for his murder.
