Roy Louis Adams, 84, a native of Cut Off and resident of Golden Meadow, died Wednesday, May 18, 2011.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time today at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. today at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his loving companion, Mrs. Mildred Rousse; four sons, Wayne Adams, Jack Adams and wife, Theresa, Jerry Adams and wife, Patty, and James Adams and wife, Debbie; two sisters, Gloria Eymard and Irene Matherne; five grandchildren, Melissa Adams Garrison, Elizabeth Adams Turpin, Samantha Adams Hymel, Hayley Adams and Mathew Adams; and one great-grandson, Mark Caffery Garrison Jr.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louella G. Adams; his parents, Earline and Louis Adams; and one brother, Dallas Adams.
He was Catholic, a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was an avid fisherman and loved to dance. He was retired from Otis Engineering. He was well loved and will be deeply missed by his companion, family and friends.
