Floyd Vance Duncan, 78, of 4505 Ridgefall Road, died Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at home.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Stokesdale Baptist Church with Reverend Carl Brown and Reverend Rick Hamann officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Duncan was born October 22, 1934, in Guilford County, to the late Kenneth Obelia Duncan and Allie Mae Echols Duncan. He was a US Army veteran, a member of Stokesdale Baptist Church, a retired employee of Conoco, Inc. and the City of Greensboro. Floyd sang with the Duncan Family Gospel Singers for many years and loved golfing with his sons.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Ray Duncan and Pete Duncan.

Survivors include sons, Floyd V. Duncan, Jr., and wife, Rhea, of Greensboro, Kenneth E. Duncan and wife, Rachelle, of Conway, SC, and David R. Duncan and wife, Angie, of Greensboro; sister, Treva Duncan of Greensboro; grandchildren, Jamie (Beth) Duncan, Jeff (Heather) Duncan, Jenna (Kirk) Daniels, Keddie Duncan, April (Adam) Dubose, Kenzie Duncan, Victoria Nelson, Taylor Duncan and Ciara Duncan and 9 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Saturday, at Colonial Funeral Home and all other times at the residence.

Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27402.
