On January 10, 1933 at 3 o'clock a.m., Carwin Adkins the 12 year old son of Polly Adkins, died at his home near Sias, W.Va. He leaves to mourn his going besides his mother, three brothers and five sisters. They are Okla, Harold, Coon, Mrs Lula Cummings, Mrs. Ina Stowers, Mrs Della Adkins, Ruby and Ruth Adkins.
May this little messenger of God have accomplished his mission to all our hearts, and may these bereaved hearts be comforted and that their lives be sweetened and softened by this loss.
The school children from the school where he attended were his pall bearers. The funeral was held at the Collins Knob Baptist Church in the presence of a large congregation, by Revs. E. L. Adkins and Ebb Cummings.
The days are sad and lonely
Without you, Carwin dear;
You always brought us gladness,
With your words of comfort and cheer.
Sleep on, dear Carwin,
Till the Resurrection morn;
Then we hope to meet you,
Where no good-bye is known
