A native of Buncombe County, Mr. Bradley was the son of the late Ida Owenby and Leonard Garfield Bradley, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Beatrice F. MaGaha Bradley in 1989, a son, Danny L. Bradley, a sister, Frances Williams and three brothers, Eldon, Furman and Ancel Bradley.

Mr. Bradley was a US Navy veteran of World War II and retired as a custodian from Charles C. Bell school in 1988.

Survivors include his wife of ten years, Bonnie Bright Bradley; a daughter, Shirley Shepherd of Asheville; a son, Gary Bradley and his wife, Joyce of Asheville; five grandchildren, Lisa Bradley, Kelley Franklin, Julie Shepherd, Butch Bradley and Tony Bradley; one great-grandchild, Bailey K. Franklin; three sisters, Ethelyn Dotson of Fletcher, Lillian Hare of Asheville and Betty Lou Hare and her husband, Don of Asheville and two brothers, Franklin Bradley and his wife, Paulette of Fletcher and Mitchell Bradley and his wife, Louise of Asheville.
