Dennis W. "Sniffy" Tow, 62, a resident of Montesano died on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen. He was born on Aug. 6, 1945, to Weyman J. and Verda M. Tow in Longview. While growing up he worked at the family cattle ranchs in Vantage and then Fort Lewis. Dennis attended school in Roy and in 1964, he graduated from Bethel High School in Tacoma.
From 1965 to 1967, he served with the U.S. Army and then with the U.S. Air Force from 1968 to 1971. He met Virginia Fulleton on Jan. 30, 1981, and they were married on Aug. 19, 1985, in Reno, Nev.
Survivor's include his wife, Virginia at the family home; a daughter, Kelly Phinney of Austin, Texas; three granddaughters; one grandson; his mother, Verda Tow of Toutle. He was preceded in death by his father in 1991 and a brother, Bill in 1997. He also leaves many wonderful friends, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Dennis had worked at Boeing, ITT Rayonier at Crane Creek and Hoquiam sorting yards. He had worked the family owned crab and drag boat out of Westport and other fishing boats in Alaska. He went on a joint fishing venture, out of Westport, with the Russians in 1985. Dennis worked for DaPaul Logging and Zepp Logging.
He was a member of the American Legion Post#140 of Westport and the Hoquiam and Aberdeen Eagles. Dennis was lifetime member of the NRA. He enjoyed the great outdoors, hunting, fishing, clam digging, shrimping and oyster shucking on Hood Canal, firewood cutting and working in the woods.

Visitation will be at the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam on Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007. at Coleman Mortuary Chapel in Hoquiam. Vault interment with military honors will follow at the Grove Cemetery near Brady. A potluck reception for family and friends will in Elma at the Microtel.
