Phyllis Marie Blanchard was born to Philbert Blanchard and
Gladys Allensworth Foster on August 19, 1956 in Oklahoma City, OK.
She was someone special to all of those who knew her. Upon her turning a couple of weeks old, Henry and Mary Thigpen took over the upbringing of "Peggy Mae Thigpen". She was baptized at Mt. Ellem church by Rev. Ton Hill. Phyllis Attended Coverson Elementary and attended Star Spencer High School until the eighth grade.
Phyllis had three children by the age of 19 which she loved more than anything. She did her best to support them.
Phyllis loved to cook and she was very good at it. She would always cook family dinners so that her children and grandchildren could gather together.
Phyllis moved to Boley, OK where she met Alvin Jenkins. They
were common law partners for approximately 17 years and together they enjoyed raising her grandchildren. Her home was a home away from home for any child in need of shelter. Her door was always open.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her mother, Gladys Foster and father, Philbert Blalnchard. Two sisters, Brenda Blanchey and Barbara Carter. One grandchild, Gabrielle Nicole Blanchard. Her life came to a close on February
12, 2013 at Shawnee Medical Hospital.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, four children: Lynn Blanchard, Donatta Blanchard, Nyree Blanchard, Dietra Gibson and stepdaughter Dietra Gibson. Two brothers: William
Blanchey and Curtis Foster. Two sisters: Linda Blancey and Felicia Foster. Approximately 18 grandchildren: Destiny, Danielle, Glendale, Demetria, Anthony, Kalyn, Adrian, Phylicia, Olivia, Kennitra, D'Juan, Emonny, Antonio
Dalucas, Albert, Alvin and D'Carri as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
