William J. 'Blue' Duvall
William J. "Blue" Duvall, 70, of Stonefort, died at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2000, in John Cochran Veteran's Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born April 19, 1930, in Stonefort to the late George Rawlings and Edith Lebo Duvall.
He was a retired laborer with Operating Engineers.
Mr. Duvall was a veteran of the Korean War and was a lifelong member of Beggs Gurley Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Vienna.
He attended the Antioch Church in Stonefort.
Mr. Duvall is survived by a close friend and companion, Dorothy Duvall of Stonefort; four sons, Michael Duvall of Indiana, Terry, Billy, and Larry Duvall of Alton; two stepsons, Robert Brown of New Jersey and Michael Brown of Henderson, N.C.; a step-daughter, Rhonda Kay Craig of Stonefort; a sister, Martha Duvall of Sullivan, Mo.; and several grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, James Earl Duvall; three brothers, James, Lowell and Harold Duvall, and a sister, Bessie Duvall.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, where friends may call after 9 a.m. until service time. The Rev. John Dunn will officiate. Burial will be in Blackman Cemetery at Stonefort with military honors.Memorials will be made to the Blackman Cemetery in his memory. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
