John Francis "Frank" Donley, 88, died in Randolph Memorial Hospital.

Parents: Edward and Cora Stillwagon Donley.

He served in the Marine Corps during World War II and was a member of the Flying Tigers. He worked for 33 years at New Castle Wrecking Co. and taught auto body at what is now the Lawrence County Career and Technical Center. He and his wife made their home in New Castle until moving to North Carolina in 1985. He sang for 25 years with the King's Messenger Quartet and was a member of the Pennsylvania State Grange. He was a member of Faith Country Chapel, where he taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. He was a lay pastor in the Evangelical Church and a former member of Center Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder, sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. After moving to North Carolina, he attended First Wesleyan Church and taught the Men's Bible Class. During his last four years, he was a member of the Poplar Ridge Friends, where he taught Sunday school and was a member of the Senior Friends Fellowship and Upward Basketball Program.

Relatives: by his wife, Phebe Donley of the home; two children, Brian C. Donley and his wife, Betty, of High Point, N.C., and April Lindsey and her husband, Joe, of Asheboro; four grandchildren, Laurel Donley Banks and her husband, Jason, Ryan Donley, Jared Lindsey and Renee Lindsey; great-granddaughter, Annie Brice Banks; and one brother, Paul Donley of Mineral Ridge, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and eight sisters.
