Obituary - Samuel H. Keen
Died, at his home in Hickory Hill Township, this county, on January 28, 1897, after an illness of ten days with pneumonia, Samuel H. Keen, aged 57 years and 6 days.
Deceased was born in the township in which he died January 22, 1840. He was married August 29, 1861, with Miss Phebe A. C. Atteberry, and unto them were born nine children, six of whom, with his widow survive him; three having gone on before.
He professed a hope in Christ some years ago and united with the Missionary Baptist church in which he held communion until the Lord called him home. He was laid to rest in the Attebery cemetery, there to await the resurrection of the just.
A kind husband, an indulgent father, and a good citizen has been taken from us, but we mourn not as those who have no hope, but confidently expect to meet him again where we will not have to say farewell.
