Dr. Reynaldo Cruz Ramos, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 31st, at the age of 83. He is survived by his wife Aludia of 40 years and their two sons, Henry and Alexander. He is also survived by his two loving grandchildren, Aidan and Julia, who are the children of Henry and his wife Joy.
Reynaldo was born on Christmas day, 1926 in Tanay, Rizal, Philippines. He completed high school in 1949 at Sierra Madre Institute in Tanay, and then completed his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1955 from Manila Central University. He immigrated to the United States in 1956 and interned in Orlando and Pensacola, Florida and El Paso, Texas for six years before returning to Tanay. He moved to Alameda, California in 1967 and was married in San Francisco in 1969. In 1971, Reynaldo and his family moved to Centralia, Illinois and served as an administrator at Warren G Murray Development Center for twelve years before returning to Alameda.
He enjoyed cooking meals and attending social functions, especially those thrown by the Tanay Club in America and the Sierra Madre Institute Alumni Association. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Predeceasing Reynaldo are his parents, two brothers (Fred 1993, Eddie 2008) and his sister (Regina 1987). He is survived by four brothers (Emeterio, Mateo, Feliciano and Thomas) and one sister (Monica).
All services will be held at St. Joseph Basilica in Alameda. A Vigil will be held this Tuesday, April 6th from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, April 7th at 10:00 am. He will be interred at the Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland.
