James Brandenburg, age 48, of Cynthiana, Kentucky, died Saturday, November 26, 2011, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born in Estill County, Kentucky, on December 29, 1962, to Leona Fox Shouse, of Harrison County, and the late Virgil Brandenburg and grew up in Lee County. He was a truck driver for JB Hunt Trucking, where he had reached his two million safe driving miles. He loved farming and served as a specialist in the United States Army during Operation Desert Storm.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Virgil Brandenburg, Jr. Besides his mother, he is survived by: his wife, Sally A. Brandenburg; a son, James Manley Brandenburg, of Cynthiana; two daughters, Jessica Amber Brandenburg and Madelyne May Brandenburg, both of Cynthiana; and his stepfather, Jimmy Shouse.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday at Ware Funeral Home, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Lower Curry Cemetery.
