Leo Alexander, 81, a former resident of the Manville area, passed away at Ft. Morgan, Colo., on Oct. 5, 1991. He was born Oct. 20, 1909, in North Platte, Neb., to George and Rena Alexander.

He was raised on a homestead in Muskrat Canyon near Manville. He attended schools there and graduated from Manville High School. On April 20, 1938 he married Emma Klemke in Lusk. He worked for Continental Oil Company in the area for many years before being transferred to Ft. Morgan. He lived there until the time of his death.

He was an avid rock hunter and enjoyed returning to Muskrat Canyon to walk the hills looking for them.

He is survived by his wife, Emma; two daughters, Wanda Shipman of Aurora, Colo. and Deanna Roach of Palm Harbor, Fla.; one sister, Esther Bartos of Lusk and three brothers, Alvin of Lusk and Floyd and Oscar of Manville.

Funeral services were held Oct. 8 at Trinity Lutheran Church at Ft. Morgan with Rev. Mark Rittmann officiating. Burial was at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Ft. Morgan.
