Joseph was mustered out with Company B, 3rd PA Provisional Cavalry on October 31, 1865. Born in Greene County, Pennsylvania. Wife Jemima Ammerman filed for a widow's pension on June 22, 1897, application number 657,144, certificate 453,952.
