Robert Victor Atchison, 77, of Hornersville, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2006 at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born Dec. 6, 1928 in Lenox, Tenn., he was the son of the late John Gilbert Atchison and Myrtie Louise Ashworth Atchison.
Robert was united in marriage to Virginia Oliver Scott on Sept. 1, 1945 in Caruthersville.
He was a farmer and of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Atchison leaves his wife, Virginia Atchison, of the home; Two sons: Danny Atchison of Malden and Jimmy Atchison of Rives; Two daughters: Janet Hawkins of Conway, Ark., and Phyllis Dixon of Blackspear, Ga.; Two brothers: Walter Atchison of Jackson and David Atchison of Bernie; Seven grandchildren: Robyn Daniels, Matthew Vuletich, Jared Shaneyfelt, Brooke Griffin, Lindsay Atchison and Trever Hawkins; and Five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Atchison were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006 at the Powell Funeral Home in Steele with Rev Clifton Trentham officiating.
Burial was at the Dunklin Memorial Gardens in Kennett with Powell Funeral Home in charge of services.
Pallbearers were Terry Scott, Steve Worrell, Keith Scott, Danny Davis, Danny Bray ad Ronald Grice.
