LOREN G. BINGAMAN
Loren G. Bingaman, son of Samuel A. and Mary Agan Bingaman, was born Aug. 20, 1892, and died July 5, 1960, at the Yocom hospital in Chariton, after a lingering illness.
He attended Simpson College in Indianola and Western Normal College in Shenandoah, preparing to become a teacher. He taught one year in a rural school, but his chief interest was farming which he followed the remainder of his life.
He was united in marriage to Fern Shults Feb. 27, 1918, and to this union were born three children, one of whom died in infancy, Eunice Jane Nelson of Fontana, Calif., and William Franklin Bingaman of Chariton.
He grew up going to the Methodist church and became a member in his early manhood. He always attended and took an active part in its work and services.
During his long illness he was uncomplaining, being sustained by his faith and trust in the Heavenly Father. He was a good neighbor, a man with many friends who visited him constantly during his long illness.
Besides his wife and two children, he leaves three grandchildren: Cynthia Nelson, Vicki and Shari Bingaman and two sisters, Mrs. John Kincaid of Knoxville and Mrs. Eva Askren of Chariton.
Funeral services were held at the Pleasant Prairie Methodist church July 7, 1960. The Rev. John Beebout of Bloomfield officiated at the service. Interment was at the Coal Glen cemetery.
