Husband of Mary Esteb Cable. Son of Daniel Christian Bingaman and Adella Melinda Umbenhower

Chariton, Iowa
Thursday, May 24, 1956

William Virgil Bingaman, son of Daniel C. and Adella Umbenhower Bingaman, was born in Chariton on Feb. 26, 1893. In 1910 he moved to Corinne, Saskatchewan, Canada and settled on a farm. He farmed in the Corinne-Riceton District for 10 years before settling on a farm near Gray, Sask., Canada.

In the early thirties, he and his family moved into Regina for the winter months, continuing this practice until their twin daughters, Elsie and Betty, had completed their high school education.

Since then, Mr. Bingaman has travelled widely, always returning to Gray in the spring to care for his farming interests. During the past few years, he took a great interest in religious films and was always ready and willing to assist in church acitivities by showing some of the fine films he had purchased.

Early in 1955, the mother of his children predeceased him. On April 7, 1956, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Adeline Miller.

Mr. Bingaman was a quiet and sincere man, living a Christian life above reproach. He was keenly interested in the work of the missions and gave generous contributions to the same.

It was with great sadness that we learned of his sudden passing on Thursday, May 10, 1956 at 7:00 p.m., at the age of 63 years, two months and 14 days.

He is survived by his loving wife, Adeline, one son, Harold of Santa Maria, Calif., two daughters, Mrs. Leslie Smitley of Parkersburg, W. Va., and Mrs. Carl Miller of Warsaw, Ind., both of whom are married to ministers; and one step-daughter, Mrs. Norman Wolfe.

He is also survived by five sisters, three brothers and five grandchildren. One son, Kenneth, predeceased him. He also leaves a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 16, at the Church of the Nazarene in Chariton, at 2:30. The Rev. Glen Williams officiated and interment was in the Coal Glen cemetery.
