Marie V. Thompson, 100, of Lead, died Monday, July 2, 2007 at the David M. Dorsett Regional Senior Care Center.

Marie was born October 2, 1906 at Pattenburg, MO to Urlin and Leota (Hawk) Salmon. She grew up and attended area schools, graduating from high school in 1925 at Coffee, MO.

Marie married William "Bill Thompson in 1928 and they moved to Lead, SD in 1930 where Mr. Thompson went to work at Homestake. Marie has been a resident of Lead since that time.

She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lead.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 6th at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lead. Burial will follow at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lead.

Marie is survived by her son, Darrell Thompson, Virginia, MN, her daughter, Lois Culver, Lead, SD; six grandchildren, David and Nancy Thompson, Greg and Glen Culver, Misty and Justin Hogan, twelve great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1963, daughter, Carol in 2001, 11 brothers and sisters and three grandchildren.

The Aldinger Funeral Home of Spearfish is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
